You might be familiar with Sweta, our friendly point of contact for customers at DEUTZ Australia’s Melbourne headquarters.
But did you know Sweta is a numbers whiz with a Biomedical Engineering degree and an MBA in Finance?
The Indian-born Administration and Accounts Officer, who joined DEUTZ Australia in September 2018, also volunteered with charities in India and spent two months helping victims after a major earthquake.
Sweta moved to Melbourne from Ahmedabad in 2015 and found everything “new and different”. She enjoys the diversity of her job and colleagues.
“Our diversified culture provides an open work environment, and everyone is of a helping nature,” she says. “I especially enjoy it when everyone comes together for office lunches.”
Sweta helps customers, handles accounts and assists with monthly accounting reports. She mainly deals with Dealers and OEMs.
Working with Max Tokar and Craig Chamberlin, she creates accounting reports, assists in organizing office items and maintenance contract, handles dealer and OEM accounts and payment follow-up.
With her varied qualifications, Sweta really is multitalented.
“I like to work with numbers, creating and interpreting financial reports,” she says. “I love to interact with my colleagues.
“I like the friendly environment of DA. The managers and staff are supportive and always happy to help when required.”
Before DEUTZ, Sweta worked for a home appliance company. She enjoys travelling, exploring new places and reading novels.
In India, Sweta volunteered with children’s education and youth empowerment charities and helped after a major earthquake in her home state of Gujarat.
The magnitude 7.9 quake hit in the Morning of 26 January 2001, India’s Republic Day. It killed up to 20,000 people and injured more than 160,000. Twenty-one of the state’s 25 districts were devastated by the impact.
With friends and family, Sweta helped organize a food camp where volunteers cooked and distributed food for two months to people who had lost their homes.
“In collaboration with a few volunteer organizations, we collected food, clothes and basic day-to-day required items and donated it to the earthquake victims,” she says.
