A new hydrogen engine is on the horizon

DEUTZ is at the forefront of groundbreaking research, and one of the exciting areas of focus is the advancement of the traditional internal combustion engine to harness hydrogen as a sustainable energy source.

In collaboration with Munich-based start-up Keyou, DEUTZ has played a vital role in the development of a conversion kit that enables conventional combustion engines to utilise alternative fuels, including hydrogen, as a clean and renewable energy source.

As a valued development partner, DEUTZ supplied a powerful 7.8-liter six-cylinder diesel engine (TCD 7.8) for this innovative project. The joint prototype was proudly showcased at the prestigious “Bauma China” trade fair in Shanghai at the end of 2018.

With the cutting-edge technology kit developed by DEUTZ, customers will have the exciting opportunity to seamlessly integrate electric and conventional drives while incorporating diverse fuel options, ushering in a new era of transportation possibilities.
