Liz Balint, one of our most dedicated staff members, has been an integral part of the DEUTZ Australia dealer network for an impressive 30 years.
After immigrating to Melbourne as a young migrant, Liz and her family settled in Australia, driven by the hope of a better life. They arrived from Yugoslavia (now Serbia) in the 1970s, carrying only two suitcases, following the footsteps of Liz’s uncle who had already found success in this new land.
“My parents were inspired by my uncle’s letters, in which he described the improved quality of life in Australia. They made the decision to provide my younger sister and me with this opportunity for a better future,” Liz fondly recalls.
After completing her education in Melbourne, Liz pursued training as a receptionist/typist and gained valuable experience working with several companies before embarking on her journey with DEUTZ Australia.
Initially joining as a clerk/typist in the Engine Division, Liz has since taken on the role of After-Sales Administrator, responsible for addressing dealer inquiries related to parts pricing and availability.
Her responsibilities also encompass order entry, invoicing, handling returns and credit notes, as well as assisting her colleagues in the parts and service departments. Embracing the diverse nature of her tasks, Liz finds joy in working closely with dealers and appreciates the ever-changing nature of her role.
During her weekends, Liz relishes the opportunity to unwind and spend quality time with her loved ones. Whether it’s enjoying leisurely drives, organising picnics, catching a movie, or simply engaging in her hobbies such as reading, embroidery, tapestry, and dancing, she embraces the moments of relaxation and leisure.
While some may not realise it, Liz considers herself to be a naturally shy person. However, within the vibrant DEUTZ work environment, she thrives on the camaraderie and friendly banter shared among colleagues, which adds an extra layer of enjoyment to her workdays.
“Like any family, we have our occasional ups and downs, but we always maintain a mutual respect,” Liz explains.
“It may sound like a cliché, but DEUTZ has become a second family to me, the family I have when I’m not at home.” she says.
